In a horrific road accident, at least seven people of a family were killed and nearly 20 others were injured after a truck rammed into a mini-bus in Haryana's Ambala in the early hours of Friday.
The bus was carrying around 30 passengers from Uttar Pradesh who were going to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu and Kashmir, police said.
Civil Hospital Ambala Cantt Medical Officer, Dr. Kaushal Kumar, "Seven people died and more than 20 people were injured in a bus accident on the Ambala-Delhi-Jammu National Highway." He added, “The accident occurred … early today."
The accident occured on the Ambala-Delhi-Jammu National Highway when the mini-bus carrying pilgrims to Vaishno Devi was rammed by a truck. One of the survivor of the accident said the driver was drunk and fled the scene soon after the accident. All the passengers, from same family, were asleep when the accident happened, she said.
